INSTRUCTIONS FOR USe
HOT THERAPY
The most convenient method of heating the sleeve is in a microwave oven. Suggested heating times: 600 – 700 watt microwave – 30-45 seconds per side; 1100 watt – 30 seconds per side. NOTE: All microwaves vary in heating and may have “hot spots”. Be cautious when heating. Wait one minute before using.
COLD THERAPY
Store the sleeve in a freezer for a minimum of two hours. Can be left in the freezer indefinitely until ready for use. Sleeve will remain flexible even at -28°C / -18°F. Remove sleeve prior to defrosting freezer. IMPORTANT: Always store sleeve in a plastic bag while in freezer.

Muscle Aches
Muscle aches and pains are common and can involve more than one muscle. Muscle pain also can involve ligaments, tendons, and fascia. Fascias are the soft tissues that connect muscles, bones, and organs.
The most common causes of muscle pain are tension, stress, overuse and minor injuries.
HOT therapy use to treat a muscle ache will dilate the blood vessels, promote blood flow, and help the sore and tightened muscle relax. Improved circulation can also help eliminate the buildup of lactic acid waste which occurs after intense exercise. Lactic acid build up in the muscle leads to pain and discomfort.
Muscle Spasms
Muscle spasms can affect any muscle of the body, ranging from slight twitches to agonizing cramps that have a major negative impact on your quality of life.
The main causes of muscle spasms include dehydration, electrolyte depletion, inadequate stretching, muscle fatigue, working out In the heat, restricted blood supply, stress, excessive vigorous exercise, & spontaneous nerve discharges.
HOT therapy can have a significant positive effect on spasms when utilized properly, especially when the spasms have been provoked by muscle tension and tightness. Heat reduces discomfort by promoting muscle relaxation, and improving blood circulation, alleviating the symptoms caused by muscle fatigue or insufficient stretching.
Joint Stiffness
Joint stiffness is the feeling that the motion of a joint is limited or difficult. A stiff-feeling joint is not caused by weakness or reluctance to move the joint due to pain. Some people with stiffness are capable of moving the joint through its full range of motion, but this movement can require extra force.
The most common causes of muscle joint stiffness are arthritis, weather, age, fibromyalgia, and injury to the joint. Often times joints will be more stiff in the morning hours given that the joint and joint fluids have been inactive while sleeping.
HOT therapy helps to increase the pliability of the muscles, connective tissue, and joint fluid which improves joint flexibility and facilitates smooth movement.

Sport Injuries
Sports injuries are commonly caused by overuse, direct impact, or the application of force that is greater than the body part can structurally withstand. There are two kinds of sports injuries: acute and chronic.
An acute injury occurs suddenly, such as a sprained ankle caused by an awkward landing.
Chronic injuries are caused by repeated overuse of muscle groups or joints. Poor technique and structural abnormalities can also contribute to the development of chronic injuries. A good example of a chronic injury is tennis elbow which is caused by repetitive extension of the arm.
Sport injuries will almost always cause pain and swelling at the site of injury which COLD therapy helps to decrease.
Swelling
Swelling is any abnormal enlargement of a body part. It is typically the result of inflammation or a buildup of fluid. Edema describes swelling in the tissue outside of the joint. Effusion describes swelling that is inside a joint, such as a swollen ankle or knee.
Swelling in the body can happen for many reasons. Summer heat can cause your arms or legs to swell if you’ve been sitting or standing for a while. Body parts can also swell from overuse or an injury. But sometimes, swelling is a sign of an underlying medical condition.
By applying COLD therapy to a swollen area helps to reduce skin temperature, nerve activity, pain and swelling.
Fevers
A fever is a temporary rise in body temperature. It's one part of an overall response from the body's immune system. A fever is usually caused by an infection.
Body temperatures vary slightly from person to person and at different times of day. The average temperature has traditionally been defined as 98.6 F (37 C). A temperature taken using a mouth thermometer (oral temperature) that's 100 F (37.8 C) or higher is generally considered to be a fever.
Common symptoms of a fever include sweating, chill/shivers, headache, muscle aches, loss of appetite, irritability, dehydration and weakness.
COLD therapy can help to lower one's body temperature when experiencing a fever. It's important to note that COLD therapy is a helpful addition in the treatment of a fever, but often times medication and other methods of treatment are required in order for full recovery.
